Filming, Photography and Documentaries
The
WSRI and WSP has hosted many well known as well as less well known documentary
film companies, including BBC, CBS, National Geographic, Discovery,
Cicada, Tango, T&H, Swedish Television, TBS and many more, wishing
to film the Great White Shark in a positive manner. While working with
these companies, we have learnt many interesting techniques required
to make a successful film, and have subsequently developed a department
which specialises in hosting film companies wishing to document the
Great White Shark. We have the equipment, knowledge, staff, experience
and dedication required for the successful filming of Great White Sharks.
Over resent years there has been a very noticeable positive change in
the style of shark documentaries.
We believe this is largely due to our input. We encourage the
filming of Great White Sharks in a positive manner as these films are
screened world-wide to millions of viewers. Filming Great White Sharks
in South Africa is relatively easy if one knows what to do and where
to go. Our Great White Shark areas are accessible, enabling us to base
ourselves on shore and commute to and from the shark sites by fast boat
on a daily basis. This alleviates the problems and logistics of live-aboards
and rough weather. We have a fast and
stable catamaran boats which are designed and built for diving and filming
operations as well as shark cages and all other equipment which is necessary
for filming and working with Great White Sharks. The WSRI has worked
with far more individual Great White Sharks than any other organisation
in the world, which has subsequently provided us with vast knowledge
concerning working methodology with this species. Original Great White Shark Footage
